What is refining process?
Edible oil refining is a set of processes or treatments necessary to turn vegetable raw oil into edible oil.
Raw vegetable oil, obtained from seeds by pressing, solvent extraction, contains free fatty acids and other components such as phospholipids, waxes, peroxides, aldehydes, and ketones, which contribute to undesirable flavor, odor, and appearance; for these reasons, all the oil has to be refined.

Degumming
Degumming is to remove peptizing impurities from the crude oil. The principle is to use the hydrophilicity of peptized impurities to add an appropriate amount of water and electrolytes to the crude oil, so that the peptized impurities in the oil absorb water and swell, coagulate and separate from oil.
Deacidification
The purpose of deacidification is to remove the free fatty acids of the oil. The common alkali refining method is to use food-grade caustic soda (NaOH) solution to neutralize the free fatty acids in the oil, thereby forming soap particles and separating them from the oil.
Bleaching
The adsorbent with strong adsorption force can adsorb pigments and other impurities in hot oil. The adsorbent is added to adsorb
pigment impurities, and the adsorbed pigments and impurities are also removed in the process of filtering the adsorbent.
Deodorization
The principle of vacuum steam deodorization method: using the difference of boiling point between triglyceride and odorous substances, under high temperature and vacuum conditions, the odorous substances are removed by steam distillation.
